Honorable Erico Aristotle C. Aumentado is the 27th Governor of the Province of Bohol.


Popularly known as “Aris”, he is the youngest among the eight children of the Former Governor and Deputy Speaker, the late Erico Boyles-Aumentado, and retired elementary teacher, Peregrina Adlaon Cabagnot. Governor Aris served as Congressman of the Second District of Bohol for three consecutive terms prior to his gubernatorial victory in 2022.


He is also the Chair of the Regional Development Council of Central Visayas. While in the House of Representatives, he served in the Congressional Committee of Science and Technology as Chair and passed landmark laws such as the law adjusting the salary and benefits of government personnel (R.A. 11466) and the law establishing the Philippine Space Development and Utilization 6+Policy (R.A. 11363). Moreover, he accomplished several reforms in the areas of social services, livelihood, and infrastructure.


Governor Aris is a staunch anti-corruption advocate and a champion of women, youth, teachers, farmers, fisherfolks, OFWs, LBTQ+ members, health workers, and athletes. He has successfully implemented programs and projects that have impacted many Boholano communities in the areas of sustainable tourism, inclusive education, sports development, sustainable environment and climate action, innovations and infrastructure, economic empowerment and entrepreneurship, jobs generation, and many more.


Governor Aris is leading Boholanos with his visionary brand of public service, which is “Limpyong Panggobyerno, Abante Bohol.”

Dr. Leonila T. Baluyut is a distinguished leader in the field of trade and industry, renowned for her exceptional journey from grassroots involvement to her current prominent role as Assistant Secretary.


With over three decades in service, Dr. Baluyut is a Career Executive Service Officer (CESO). She continually demonstrated her dedication to fostering economic growth, championing innovation, and empowering communities. Her professional career started as a Financial Analyst at the DTI - Central Luzon Region. She served in key positions as Provincial Director and became Regional Director in the same region. All her outstanding contributions led to her current position’s appointment.


Dr. Baluyut remains at the forefront of industry trends through continuous learning and immersive engagements in countries like Japan, Korea, China, Indonesia, Thailand, Germany, France, Italy, and Switzerland. These experiences have enriched her understanding on economic, trade, investment, SME development and social development as a global thought leader in her field. She was a member of the Philippine Delegation to Geneva, Switzerland on the United Nations’ Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).


Her exceptional contributions have been recognized where she was awarded the prestigious Angeles University Foundation The Outstanding Alumni (AUF TOA) Award, and the Civil Service Commission Pagasa Award.


Dr. Baluyut's academic journey is characterized by her relentless pursuit of excellence. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration as Academic Scholar, furthered her education by obtaining a Master's in Management major in Business Management from the University of the Philippines. She was enriched with her diverse executive and leadership training experiences where she advanced from various executive and leadership disciplines from prestigious institutions in Singapore including the Nanyang Technological University, Civil Service College, and the Asian Institute of Digital Transformation. Her academic achievements culminated in the completion of her Doctor of Business Administration degree, Magna Cum Laude.

MARIA ELENA C. ARBON

Nannette Arbon is currently the Regional Director of the Department of Trade and Industry in Region VII. She is a graduate of Silliman University in Dumaguete City and has held various positions at DTI in all the four provinces of Central Visayas.


Innovation, Digital, MSMEs and the Creatives are some of the major advocacies of RD Nannette. As such, she has conceptualized and initiated various related programs such as the establishment of Fabrication Laboratories (FabLabs), the StartupIsland Program to support the growth of startups, DREAM (Digital Services Entrepreneurs Advancement Mentoring) Program specifically designed for digital services entrepreneurs, Creative Konnect which is a multi-faceted program to promote the growth of both digital and traditional creative enterprises, among others.


MSME development programs of the DTI cover the gamut of value chain upgrading including product and market development. RD Nannette has been active in this sphere, conceptualizing and implementing programs that not only promote entrepreneurship but also help our MSMEs and their products and services become better and more competitive. Even before the pandemic, initiatives pushing for the digitalization of MSMEs were already in full swing. Post pandemic, this push for more digital and e-commerce has been accelerated through several programs such as Negosyo Mapping (putting our MSMEs on the google map), Digital Marketing training series, Onboarding in platforms, matching with Startup tech solutions, and the like.

Vierna Ligan is an inspiring leader who heads the Department of Trade and Industry in Bohol.


Under the mentorship of then Bohol Provincial Director Nannette Arbon, she has inherited from her, a forward-thinking mindset and passion for innovation. She is committed to pushing boundaries for Bohol’s innovation ecosystem and she is dedicated to fostering a culture of creativity and experimentation.


As officer-in-charge of DTI Bohol, she leads her team in pushing for the advancement of the province’s creatives sector. She also recognizes that diverse perspectives fuel innovation, and empowers her team to embrace change, challenge convention, and drive meaningful impact to the community. She has actively sought out external partnerships and collaborations to bring fresh perspectives and ideas into DTI Bohol. She currently chairs the Bohol Arts and Heritage Council sub-committee on Governance.


Vierna is not only a leader but also a driver of change, inspiring her team to push the boundaries of what's possible and drive innovation that makes a positive impact.

She was also the Planning Coordinator of DTI Bohol from 2005 until 2019, and her various achievements led her to be one of the national semi-finalists for SPRINTS (Huwarang DTI) in 2014, and one of Region 7s finalists in 2019 and 2020.


She is one of the pioneering graduates of the DTI Academy’s Project Dalubhasa Program in 2021, where she bagged the Most Outstanding Dalubhasa Award for the Branding track.

A Mass Communications graduate from the UP- Diliman, a Media Course earned from Pennsylvania, USA and Trade-related Course from Brisbane, Australia. She started her career as a radio and television announcer and joined the government through the Departments of Trade & Industry and Tourism.


Her stint at the DOT transformed her home region into a Next in Mind destination. At the head office she led the institutionalization of national programs like OJT for Hotels and Academe, Needs and Gaps Assessment for Training and inclusion of regions in the Mabuhay Awards. She has served as Resource Person for international talks in South Korea, China and ASEAN countries on Tourism-related matters.


She initiated Curricular Reforms at the PTTC and is leading the Institutional Reforms of Industry Skills through the introduction of the Philippine Skills Framework. She possesses both passion and commitment to manage and execute effective operation while ensuring a strong link between national policies and regional concerns.

Ms. Vina R. Antopina is a distinguished leader and innovator, with a remarkable career spanning over two decades across various industries. As the Provincial S&T Director at the Department of Science and Technology 7—Bohol PSTO since November 2018, Vina has been instrumental in driving scientific advancements and fostering innovation within the province. Her visionary leadership has significantly contributed to research and development initiatives, shaping the scientific landscape of Bohol.


In addition to her government role, Vina is a seasoned expert in the art of chocolate. Since August 2021, she has served as a product development consultant for Tangerine Chocolates and 4K Kakao Farms in Gumaca, Quezon, leveraging her extensive knowledge and skills in chocolate craftsmanship. With a passion for creating exquisite flavors and textures, Vina has also made her mark as a chocolate maker and chocolatier at 55 Beans Chocolateríe since May 2017, showcasing her talent and creativity in the world of confectionery.


Vina, an entrepreneur at heart, founded VRANT Food Products in May 2007, demonstrating her entrepreneurial acumen and commitment to culinary excellence. Her entrepreneurial journey, combined with her expertise in chocolate processing and product development, has earned her recognition as a trailblazer in the industry. Vina's dedication to continuous learning, coupled with her academic achievements and certifications, underscores her unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation in science, technology, and the culinary arts.

Born on June 19, 1978, in Osaka city, Japan, and currently residing in Tokyo, Japan, he is a highly experienced professional with a diverse background in design, project management, and entrepreneurship. He holds a Master's degree from Keio University's Graduate School of Media and Governance, a Bachelor's degree from Tama Art University in Product Design, and an Associate's degree from Kyoto Art College in Visual Design.


Throughout his career, he has held various leadership positions, including CEO of Instalimb, Inc., Director of Instalimb India Pvt. Ltd., and Director of Instalimb Solutions Philippines, Inc. Additionally, he has served as a Specially Appointed Associate Professor at Hiroshima University and Tokyo Medical And Dental University Hospital. His extensive work experience also includes roles as a JICA Expert and Project Manager for poverty reduction projects, Researcher at the KEIO Research Institute at SFC as well as the founder of FabLab Bohol and serving as its Director.


He has received numerous awards and recognitions for his contributions to the field, including the Japan ITU Association Award for Encouragement, the Extreme Tech Challenge (XTC) First Place in Japan Preliminary Round, and the Hogo AI Award from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Best Master's Thesis Awards in Keio University SFC and Excellence new technology and new products award for SMEs as a team member.


In addition to his professional accomplishments, he is also actively involved in academic research and publication. He has authored papers presented at international conferences and contributed to publications by JICA Research Institute and other esteemed institutions.


With a passion for innovation and a dedication to making a positive impact, he continues to explore new avenues for creativity, collaboration, and social change in the fields of design, technology, and community development.

Before joining public service, she had a brief stint with the banking industry. At the Department of Trade and Industry, she rose from the ranks. She became a Provincial Director of the DTI NCR and became OIC Regional Director. She also served former DTI Undersecretary of Regional Operations Group, Zenaida C. Maglaya as Chief of Staff and was concurrently assigned as the Program manager of the NC PMU and Project Director of the INREMP LES 2. Since April 2022, she was the designated OIC of the Bureau of Small and Medium Enterprise Development and last September 2023 she was promoted as Director IV.

As the University Director of FABLAB Bohol at Bohol Island State University (BISU), he brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the realm of digital fabrication and technological innovation. Having graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design from BISU and subsequently earned his Master of Science in Industrial Technology with Summa Cum Laude honors, he has demonstrated a deep commitment to academic excellence and scholarly pursuits.


With an impressive nine-year tenure at FABLAB Bohol, the pioneering FABLAB in the Philippines, spanning from 2013 to the present, he has played a pivotal role in its growth and success. His dedication to fostering innovation and providing cutting-edge resources has made him a respected figure within the digital fabrication community.


Recognized for his leadership and vision, he has served as the FABLABs Philippines Growth Chair and Quality Chair in 2022 and 2023, respectively, representing BISU with distinction. His contributions to the advancement of FABLAB initiatives across the country have been invaluable, shaping the trajectory of digital fabrication in the Philippines.


Moreover, his involvement in various capacities within BISU underscores his commitment to academic and institutional development. As a FABLAB expert and educator, he imparts his knowledge to students, teaching FABLAB-Digital Fabrication classes for Engineering, Architecture, and Production Techniques for Industrial Design.


Currently pursuing his Doctor of Philosophy with a Major in Technology Management at BISU, he is engaged in groundbreaking research with a focus on advancing the understanding and application of technology within management frameworks. Amidst his academic journey, he is actively involved in his dissertation, now in its second phase, promising significant contributions to the field.

Andrew Lamb

Internet of Production Alliance

Andrew Lamb is the Chair of the Internet of Production Alliance which is developing open systems to support networks of makerspaces, FabLabs and local manufacturers to collaborate and deliver large orders together. Andrew is also the co-founder of the Local Procurement Learning Partnership which helps humanitarian agencies to share expertise on buying locally-made supplies.


Andrew has worked in international development aid and humanitarian disaster relief for 20 years, with the Engineers Without Borders movement, RedR and Field Ready.


He has worked on localising solutions with innovations using 3D Printing, digital fabrication, makerspaces and traditional manufacturing – for example, to make humanitarian aid items in response to conflict, natural disasters and chronic crises. Andrew has extensive experience of working in humanitarian innovation, consortia projects and in partnerships with donors and informal enterprises – particularly in Africa, South-Asia and the Pacific. For example, Andrew works on the mAkE project developing ‘African-European Makerspace Ecosystems’.


Andrew is a board member of Appropedia (the sustainability wiki), Helpful Engineering (which started in the COVID-19 pandemic), Mekanika (which produces open hardware machines), the Global Innovation Gathering (of social innovators) and is the Chair of FabLab Winam in Kenya. Andrew is also a director of two companies – Massive Small Manufacturing Ltd in the UK and Distributed Manufacturing Ltd in Kenya.


He lives in London and loves Lego.

Gabe Mercado is the Executive Director of Vivita Philippines Charities. Their mission is to develop experiences, services, and products that helps young Filipinos obtain the mindset, skillset, and toolset for innovation, creative thinking, and entrepreneurship. Their workshop Vivistop is free to all and is located in Baguio City, the first Unesco Creative City in the country.


Gabe has worked with hundreds of startups as the pitch and communications mentor of Ideapsace and QBO and was also the leading authority in the field of Applied Improvisation. He brings a playful, creative approach to making, fabricating and entrepreneurship through his work with Vivita.


GIL “BUTCH” CARUNGAY

Cebu UNESCO City of Design

Gil Z. C. “Butch” Carungay is a creative entrepreneur, design advocate and community crusader. A graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Butch is an investment banker by training and worked in advertising and management consulting in New York before returning to the Philippines in 2000.


He’s been an active proponent of the creative movement since 2008 when Cebu was first designated as a Creative City by the British Council. In 2019, Butch led Cebu’s successful bid to be designated as a UNESCO City of Design and was a National Consultant for the United Nations Department of Social and Economic Affairs in 2020.


Butch is currently the Creative Director of Zai Design Hive and Chief Reinvention Officer of District 32 at Mactan|Cebu. On the advocacy side, he is Chair of Matic Hub, Focal Point of Cebu City’s UNESCO designation, serves on the Cebu City Tourism Commission, and is a convenor of the Philippine Creative Cities Network. He has also been recently appointed as a private sector representative for the Design Advisory Council of the DTI’s Design Center of the Philippines.

Mona Alcudia-Ong

Mona Alcudia is a multi-disciplinary designer focusing on design research and critical storytelling. After receiving her bachelor’s degree in industrial design from UP Cebu, she designed extensively for the home accessories industry through Hive, a design collective under the creative direction of Kenneth Cobonpue. In 2019, she finished her MA in Contextual Design from Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands. Her master’s thesis focused on the Peacock Chair, a ubiquitous furniture piece originating from the handiwork of prisoners at the Bilibid jail in the Philippines.


Her works have been exhibited in Cebu, Manila, Singapore, The Netherlands, Italy and Germany. She has been part of the UP Cebu faculty since 2013 as an assistant professor for the Product Design program of the University of the Philippines - College of Communication, Art and Design, the manager of Fablab UP Cebu and now a current lecturer for product design workshop classes. In 2022, she co-founded a design studio with Ar. Buddy Lim Ong called Unosinotra, an interdisciplinary product design and architecture studio championing digital fabrication, material experimentation, and critical design research and education.


In her creative practice, she explores non-linear narratives surrounding craft industries, digital fabrication, decoloniality, pop and internet culture, and the evolving dynamic between the digital and traditional.

Charles barrete

Field Ready

Charles Vincent Barrete is a degree holder in Industrial Design. He’s adept at transforming his designs into prototypes and fabricating products manually or digitally. He is extensively involved in establishing Fablabs all throughout the country and supports the Philippine Fablab Community.


He is currently the Regional Technical Manager for Field Ready in the Pacific, where the organization pushes the model of localization of aid supplies and rapid repair capacity like the first Mobile Makerspace. This model of aid is being pushed to countries in the Pacific including Fiji, Vanuatu, Samoa, the Solomon Islands, all the way to the Philippines.

Prior to joining Field Ready, he was with the Department of Trade and Industry when he got involved in building programs and assist MSMES through product development and process innovation by using Fablab Bohol. He continued this initiative together with Fablab - University of the Philippines, Cebu as a Senior Business Counsellor.

Charles was also an Academic Fellow, of the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative Fall 2018 cohort of the US Department of State, taking Social Entrepreneurship and Economic Development at Brown University. He was also a Flash Grantee of the Shuttleworth Foundation with his work on mapping capabilities of the Fablabs around the Philippines.


ARNEL ZAMAYLA

Arnel Zamayla holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, with a specializaion in software engineering. He pursued his Master's degree in Computer Applications at the Mindanao State University - Iligan Insitute of Technology. Selected as a government scholar of the Philippines, he furthered his studies at the Universita della Calabria in Italy.


During his tenure in Italy, he secured funding for international mobility, leading him to Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia, as a research exchange student. His academic journey culminated in a dual degree Ph.D. in Mathematics and Computer Science, focusing on Artificial Intelligence.


Currently, he serves as the Director of Fab Lab Mindanao and leads the Center for Artificial Intelligence Research at the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology. Recently, he attended a program as a Visiting research scholar at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, USA, where he contributed to research at the Institute for Advanced Materials and Manufacturing.

Gerlynnia Galgo

Gerlynnia Galgo is a brand strategist, visual artist, and digital marketer. Her brainchild, GO Creatives, is an independent creative studio that specializes in branding and user-friendly websites. Along with her team, she assists lifestyle and creative businesses in dominating the digital landscape through intentional brand experiences. Her work and clients have been featured in Vogue, Smart Parenting Asia, Sunstar, and Forbes. In addition to her professional endeavors, she dedicates time to creating papercut artworks for exhibitions. She is also one of the community leaders of Cebu Digital Freelancers, a platform that empowers Cebuano freelancers to succeed through the power of community.

A Mechanical Engineer by profession and was awarded as the Most Outstanding Graduate in Mechanical Engineering at the Western Institute of Technology in Iloilo City, and has already earned MS units in Technology Management at the University of the Philippines, Diliman.


He spent more than three decades of his productive and professional career in government at the Metals Industry Research and Development Center of the Department of Science and Technology. He is one of the MIRDC’s Hall of Fame Awardees for performance excellence for his commitment to the delivery of superior performance and extraordinary service.


As the Chief Science Research Specialist, he leads the implementation of various R&D projects, as well as, strategic programs such as the Die and Mold Solution Center, Machine Building Program, Gear Making & Assembly Facility, Materials and Process Research Program, and the establishment of a Center for Innovation and Advancement of Manufacturing Technologies at the MIRDC-DOST.


He is a recipient of the Pag-asa Award given by Civil Service Commission through President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. at the Malacanang Palace.

Born and raised in the Soviet Union, Ajay became a non-stop backpacker at the age of 21 and lived in India, Thailand and Bali before he came to the Philippines in 2010.


After several years of living in Luzon, Palawan and Negros Oriental, in 2017 he settled in Bohol and have been staying here since. While working as a software engineer remotely, he is also developing a furniture brand for CNC machines and teaching CAD/CAM software online.

As a Licensed Occupational Therapist with 22 years of experience, he has dedicated the majority of his career, spanning 17 years, to pediatric care. Currently serving as the Chief Occupational Therapist at the Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Medical Center (GCGMMC) in Bohol, he oversees both inpatient and outpatient care for patients of all ages.


His leadership at GCGMMC has been instrumental in pioneering innovative approaches to patient care. Under his guidance, one of the first prosthesis and orthosis fabrication centers utilizing 3D printing technology was established within a Department of Health (DOH) hospital. This initiative has significantly enhanced the accessibility and quality of prosthetic and orthotic services for patients in need.


Recognizing the importance of tailored solutions, he spearheaded the launch of Hawid: Kamot sa Kaugmad, Puno sa Paglaum Upper Extremity Prosthetic Services, and Lihok, Lakaw Lower Extremity Prosthesis Services. These specialized services have empowered individuals with limb differences to regain mobility and independence, fostering hope and resilience within the community.


In addition to his clinical innovations, he is committed to promoting health and wellness through sports activities. He has organized multiple sports events, with a particular focus on triathlon activities, hosted by GCGMMC. These initiatives not only promote physical fitness but also foster a sense of camaraderie and inclusivity among participants.


His unwavering dedication to improving the lives of patients and his innovative contributions to the field of occupational therapy have earned him admiration and respect within the medical community. He continues to champion initiatives that prioritize patient-centered care and strive to enhance the quality of life for individuals of all abilities.

Jovie, is a passionate advocate for clean energy, holds a degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the University of Mindanao Tagum College. Hailing from a humble background in the province, he understands firsthand the struggles of studying by kerosene lamp light. Despite adversities, he graduated in Engineering and spent over a decade as a World Wide Level 3 Technical Expert for a US Corporate Printer company in Cebu City.


In 2017, Jovie co-founded Light Of Hope PH after witnessing the hardships of underprivileged off-the-grid communities in the Philippines. Leveraging his technical expertise, he spearheaded clean energy initiatives, beginning with the Light in a Bottle project, which later evolved into the Solar Cloudgrid Project.


Recognized as a Top 10 finalist in the British Council #DestinationZero Climate Innovation Challenge, Jovie remains dedicated to empowering marginalized communities and preserving the environment. Drawing strength from his personal journey, he persists through challenges, guided by gratitude for life's blessings.

Misterjude is a co-founder of White Brick Creative Studio, a Cebu-based visual communications studio that paved the way for the creation of Making Space. Making Space is a creative hub and facility that supports creatives and artists from different sectors. With a passion for photography and crafting, Misterjude has expanded into the realms of film and video. Beyond his creative pursuits, he is deeply engaged in academia, having taught at USC Fine Arts for over 5 years and now leading the fine arts program at SWU PHINMA. His dedication extends to community initiatives like Makers of Midtown, reflecting his commitment to nurturing creativity.

Kent Aldrich Kho, sometimes goes by as Keldrich, a Freelancer in the field of 3D Design. He has been practicing 3D for more than 6 years, ever since his college days. Invested into an Ender 3 v2 as his first 3D Printer, he began creating his own designs and prototypes. Eventually leading to bigger works such as practical designs, cosmetic items, cosplay props, and tool repairs. Currently working with his own Resin printer, has allowed for more high resolution designs such as prototyping for toys, collectibles, miniatures, accessories and more intricate designs that a Filament printer might have difficulty in accomplishing. Integrating his experience with Concept Arts and Illustrations, creating characters and original designs has become a new avenue to explore. Collaborating with local artists, creating ideas that can be manufactured with 3D printing. G


oing forward, he hopes to guide more passionate 3D artists to tackle other forms of 3D and design, whether it’s working for commercialized products, game asset design, advertisements, and more. Hoping he could share the same vision of a new generation of 3D artists for different fields. Along the way, he hopes to have more access to experimental printing, better equipment and complex printers for higher quality materials and prints.

As the visionary founder of Unleashed by SJ, an online learning platform tailored for millennials, SJ leads the charge in curating and facilitating monthly webinars and workshops on topics including public speaking, personal development, and event management. Through this platform, SJ empowers individuals to unlock their potential and navigate the complexities of the modern world with confidence and competence.


SJ's commitment to education extends beyond the digital realm, having served as a dedicated college professor at Lyceum of the Philippines University.
